# Stacks

> Deploy a group of services together

A stack is an interactive canvas for deploying a group of services together. Apps in a stack share secrets, network, and configuration.

## Create and Manage a Stack

Open **Stacks** in the dashboard and add your apps. You can also use [MCP](/v2/operations/mcp):

| Tool | Inputs | Effect |
| - | - | - |
| `list_stacks` | None | List stacks in the workspace |
| `create_stack` | `name`, optional `apps` (app names) | Create a group of apps |
| `update_stack` | `name`, optional `add` and `remove` (app names) | Change membership |
| `delete_stack` | `name` | Remove the stack; keep its apps |

For example: “Create a stack called store with store-web, store-api, and store-db.”

## Connect Services

Connect apps using [environment references](/v2/hosting/references) or MCP's `connect_services` tool. Deleting a stack keeps its apps and data.

You can also manage stacks through the [REST API](/v2/reference/platform-api). There is no `beam stack` CLI command.
